Warriors U19 - "CPC" Go Undefeated in Detroit

Members of the Collegiate Prospects Combine (CPC) traveled to Detroit, MI. this past weekend to play in the Two Nations Cup.  The CPC is an elite Fall Training Program for Future NCAA Players and is comprised of players from the Valley Jr. Warriors and Boston Americans.  The Valley Jr. Warrior team represented the CPC at the Two Nations Cup and competed in the U20 division.

Our first game of the tournament was against GCGH Lady Grads from Ottawa. Kristyna Kaltounkova scored two goals in the game as the CPC Warriors went on to win 3-1. Our second game was against the Madison Capitols U19 team. Lily Brazis started off with two quick goals, but the Capitols came back and were up 5-3 going into the third. After 3 third period goals by Kaltounkova, the CPC Warriors won 6-5. In our third game, we played against the Southwest Wildcats of the PWHL. CPC Warriors were down 1-0 after the first period, but got goals from Lily Brazis and Emma Robertson to win the game 3-2. Our last game of the preliminary round was against Belle Tire. Going into the weekend, Belle Tire was ranked 15th in the nation. Both teams played a fast style of hockey and the game finished in a 2-2 tie. The final game of the tournament was determined by a quotient rating. CPC Warriors received the number 3 seed and played against the Notre Dame Hounds. Sophia Hausberger and Sydney Correa were both solid in net as Maria Pierce scored the lone goal, giving the CPC Warriors the 1-0 win. In the final rankings, the CPC Warriors finished tied for second place with 12 points.
