Mite Selects Make a Difference... Off the Ice
While the Valley Junior Warrior teams are most often making news on the ice, there are many times when the players, coaches and parents make a difference in an another arena.

This past holiday season – while many youth teams were on the road competing in national tournaments – Mark Lester’s Mite Selects took on a new sport – BOWLING – as a way to help those in need!
As part of The Eagle-Tribune Santa Fund, an annual fundraising initiative that raises money to help those in need of assistance during the holiday season, the Mite Selects team held a fundraiser of their own last month at the Bradford Bowling Alley.

Each player was responsible for obtaining sponsors in order to raise as much money as possible for The Eagle-Tribune Santa Fund. In the end, the team raised a total of \$1,190.80, which impressed everyone including the Eagle-Tribune Santa Fund organizers.

As is evident from the photo to the right, the players and coaches not only raised significant funds for the program but they had a good time while doing it!
