What is more exciting than snow on the ground
in New England? The answer is ice being laid down in the new Haverhill
Valley Forum. The new, twin-rinks facility, which is located off Route
495 in the Ward Hill Industrial Park, is now opening
its doors for the first time.
Over the past several weeks, construction crews have been busy preparing the Haverhill rink for its highly-anticipated February 5 opening, when the pucks will finally drop for the Junior Warriors programs. The Haverhill Valley Forum will serve as the new home of the Valley Junior Warriors.
“We have made incredible progress over the past few months and are excited to open the doors of the Haverhill facility in time for spring tryouts,” said John Gilmartin, president of Valley Associates. “The addition of the Haverhill Valley Forum gives our coaches and players more scheduling options and flexibility as well as a home rink that they will be proud to call their own.”
The twin rinks facility features 12 locker rooms, a full service pro shop and concessions center, more than 800 spectator seats and a spacious, glass-enclosed mezzanine level where even more fans can watch both ice surfaces.
One of the unique offerings of the facility will be a 3,000 square foot training center located on the second floor of the Haverhill Valley Forum. This center, which will be operated by Woburn-based Athletic Evolution, will feature state-of-the-art equipment and will be the physical training center home for the Valley Junior Warriors.
Through the years, GLS Associates has spread its wings and opened three, high-profile rinks in Lawrence, Malden and now Haverhill. Not only do more than 500 teams and 10,000 players call these rinks home for league, tournament and practice play, scores more take advantage of the facilities for summer camps, public skates and ice skating training. The Valley Forum rinks have become a Mecca for skating on the North Shore.
