VJW 04 Elite Team Wins 2017 Warrior Thanksgiving Tournament!

By Bruce Irving:

The VJW 2004 Elite team enjoyed a very successful run in the 2017 Warrior Thanksgiving Tournament, culminating with a championship victory.  The team ran the table from beginning to end.  On Friday, November 24th, the Warriors skated to convincing wins over Boch Militia (7-4) and Minuteman Flames (5-2).  The following day's action included a win over Connecticut Chiefs (7-2) and a hard-fought win against a very good Northstars team (4-3).   Going undefeated in pool play secured a number one seed for the playoffs on Sunday.

In the semifinal the Warriors earned a convincing 4-1 win over the Assabet Patriots.  In the tournament final, the Warriors faced the Lakeshore Panthers from Quebec, Canada.  The Panthers had also advanced to the tournament final with an undefeated record, surrendering only two goals in five games.  The Warriors played their very best game of the tournament and skated to a convincing 5-1 victory in the final.
