Congratulations to the VJW '02 Selects, which came home with a championship title at the 2015 Kennedy Memorial Tournament.
The talented Warrior team posted a 3-1-0 record in preliminary play before defeating the Florida Junior Panthers in the semifinals and then prevailing - in sudden-death overtime - against the Carolina Jr Hurricanes.
It was an especially sweet victory as the Warriors had lost to the Hurricanes just two days earlier during preliminary-round competition.

On the final Monday, however, the VJW '02 Selects came through with tremendous team play and perseverance. With 38 seconds remaining in the first sudden-death overtime period, Cam Martin took advantage of a fortuitous line change and delivered the game winner.
Just seconds earlier, Seth Burdick had a game-saving defensive play that derailed a breakaway attempt by the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes. Zachary (MJ) Alfonzo also played outstanding between the pipes down the stretch.
"The entire team contributed," said Ray Robinson, head coach of the VJW '02 Selects. "It was a a well earned Kennedy Memorial Tourney Championship which was 22 teams deep."
Congratulations to the entire VJW '02 Select team on a job well done!
