The VJW Junior A team will be enjoying time with their families as they have a short break from Eastern Hockey League (EHL) play.
The Warriors will look to make a move up the leaderboard beginning on December 6th when the team is back in action.
Following three straight road games against the New Jersey Titans (12/6), New Jersey Rockets (12/7) and Boston Bandits (12/11), the Warriors will return to the friendly confines of the Haverhill Valley Forum for a home showdown with the York Bobcats on Sunday, December 14.
One key piece of the VJW puzzle this season is netminder Colin Soucy. The North Andover native and former Central Catholic standout has played in 23 games thus far.

This year marks a return to the blue and gold for Soucy. Following his freshman year, he competed for the VJW program and then returned to Central Catholic as a junior where he earned a number of honors including the following: MVC All-Conference Team, an MVC All-Star nomination, the Eagle Tribune All-Star Team, the Eagle Tribune Hockey MVP award, the Eagle Tribune Winter Sports Player of the Year award, and a spot on the ESPN Boston High School All-State Team.
During the 2013 Super 8 Championship, Soucy saw his stock rise considerably when he turned back 114 shots in four games including 85 of 92 in a three-game series loss to top-seeded St. John's Prep. He was heralded in the local papers as possibly "the Bay State's best high school goaltender." He helped his team return to the Super 8 Championship during his senior campaign in 2014.
His focus and determination has also been evident in the classroom. While at Central Catholic, Soucy was a Distinguished Honors student where he carried a perfect 4.0 GPA.
It is no surprise that Soucy is a product of Stop It Goaltending – the official goaltending training program of the Valley Jr Warriors. Soucy tries to emulate another Stop It Goaltending and VJW alum, Cory Schneider, who is the current starting netminder for the New Jersey Devils.
With superior training and a determined mindset, Soucy is now firmly focused on helping the VJW Junior A team during the second part of the season and securing a spot with a top Division 1 program.
