Hosted by Team Comcast, this tournament features a limited number of elite teams from across the country.
In addition to the Warriors, this year’s Frozen Cup included an ’03 Division made up of Team Comcast, Mercer Chiefs, Pittsburgh Penguins Elite and the PAL Jr Islanders.
The VJW ’03 Elites – 27th in the country according to the latest rankings posted on www.myhockeyrankings.com - continued what has been a strong season of play by posting two key wins and advancing to the semifinals.
It all began on Friday when the Warriors
defeated the Mercer Chiefs by a score of 9-2 at the Flyers Skate Zone in
The following day, the Warriors exploded offensively with an 11-2 win
over the PAL Jr Islanders.
Although the Warriors fell to Team Comcast in the semifinals, the squad has enjoyed a sensational season to date.
The Warriors stand atop the New England Hockey League’s ’03
American division with a 17-2-1 record. The team is currently in the
midst of a 16-game league winning streak that dates back to September
21. During that stretch, the Warriors have defeated its opponents by an
average of 3.8 goals.
Earlier this season, the VJW ’03 Elites advanced to the finals
of the Rochester Invitational AAA Tournament and the semifinals of the
2013 Warrior Thanksgiving Tournament.
