VJW '04 Selects Look to Bring Cheer to Troops This Holiday Season
The VJW '04 Selects are not only busy on the ice, but the players, coaches and parents are focusing their efforts on a special off-ice project.
What has become an important Warrior tradition, the youngsters dedicate their time and effort each holiday season to give back to the community. This year, the players are collecting donations to make care packages to send to our troops in
Afghanistan. Although community service work has become an
integral part of "being a Warrior", this young team was especially
inspired by the sacrifice of Sergeant First Class Justin McCarthy,
the father of VJW goaltender MacMcCarthy who had been stationed in Afghanistan. Although Sergeant First Class McCarthy is now home, he still has many friends who could use some "cheer" this holiday season.
Please consider making a donation to this worthy cause. A collection bin
will be located in the lobby of the Haverhill Valley Forum through
