VJW Junior A Players Announce College Plans
Following one of the team’s most successful seasons in recent memory, members of the VJW Junior A squad have announced their plans for the 2012-13 season.

Five key players for Andy Heinze’s squad -
Trevor Braun, Connor McStravick, Max Lorenzen, John Celli and Richard Harris - will take their games to the next level and will compete for some top collegiate programs.

The Warriors are coming off another stellar season where they advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2012 EJHL Gary Dineen Cup Playoffs for the second straight year.  It marked the end of a season for the VJW Junior A squad which posted a 27-16-2 record to finish third overall in the Northern Division. The team also took
home three end-of-the-year Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) awards – the most by any league program.

Here is a rundown on the most recent exciting news coming from this team.

Trevor Braun (Windham, ME)
Heading to McGill University
A second-year player, Braun was the team’s leading scorer all season long who finished with 30 goals and 24 assists in 45 games. He netted nine power-play tallies and three game-winning goals. He also scored at least one point in his team’s final eight regular-season games.
Connor McStravick (Philadelphia, PA)
Heading to UMass - Boston
Second to only Braun in scoring this past season, McStravick finished with 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points. He played in all 45 games and posted a team-high five game-winning goals.

Heading to Fitchburg State
The 5-9, 170-pound Celli played in 40 games this past season and collected a solid 9 goals and 9 assists. He finished with three power-play goals and one game-winning tally.

Richard Harris
Heading to Stonehill College
Harris played in 27 games for the Warriors and made good use of that time. He netted four goals and six assists

Earlier this spring, the Warriors also announced that netminder Fabian Sivnert (Hollviken, Sweden) - who finished as one of the top netminders in the EJHL - accepted a four-year scholarship to Bemidji State University, forward Mark Meads (Middleton, MA) signed on to play for Bentley College for the 2012-13 season and defenseman Conor Riley (Massena, NY) accepted a four-year scholarship to play for Maine.

Congratulations to all of these players on a great accomplishment!
