Former VJW Players Battle For Boston's Hockey Bragging Rights
Boston's "social event of winter season” – otherwise known as the Beanpot Tournament – is well underway as Boston College and Boston University earned the right to compete for the coveted title next Monday evening at the TD Garden.
Once again, the Valley Jr Warriors program is well represented at this annual tradition, which has become the official battle for Boston’s hockey bragging rights.
Representing the VJW this year are Matt Ronan, a former Junior A standout who now plays forward for Boston University, as well as Colin Blackwell (Harvard University) and Chris Kreider (Boston College). Blackwell has stepped right into a key
role during his freshman season and has collected five goals and 10
assists in 23 games thus far. Kreider, meanwhile, continues to be one of
Hockey East’s shining stars. A member of the 2011 U.S. National Team who earned
last year’s Beanpot MVP trophy as a freshman, Kreider currently leads
the Eagles (and ranks third in the league) in scoring with 16 goals and 14 assists.
Kreider and his Eagles will face off against Ronan and his Terriers on Monday, February 13th. Click here to follow all of the action at the 2012 Beanpot Tournament.
