Two Valley Jr Warriors teams have been busy on... and perhaps most importantly off the ice.
In hopes of making the holiday season merrier for those fighting for our freedom, the VJW '02 Elites and VJW Mite Minor teams worked together to collect donations to make care packages to send to our troops in Afghanistan.
Although community service work has become an integral part of "being a Warrior", these two teams were especially inspired by the sacrifice of Sergeant First Class Justin McCarthy,
the father of VJW Mite Minor goaltender MacMcCarthy who has been stationed in Afghanistan since March.
The efforts of these two teams resulted in 10 care packages that will be shipped to our troops just in time for the holiday season.
