Three VJW Players Earn New England Hockey League Weekly Honors
Three VJW players were recently recognized by the New England Hockey League (NEHL) for their outstanding play.
Nick Holt and Elijah Harris from the VJW ’97 Elites team as well as Tom Albert from the VJW ’99 Elites were all named NEHL Players of the Week for the week ending on October 16.
Ranked No. 3 in the nation by www.myhockeyrankings.com, the VJW ’97 Elites have already posted five league victories this year including an 8-0 shutout against the Wizards ‘97s. In that contest, Holt and Harris shared duties in net for the shutout win. In the 99 American Division, the VJW ’99
Elites continued what has been a dominating stretch of hockey where they
have registered a division-best eight wins. During the week ending on
October 16, the team knocked off the Avalanche ‘99s (2-1) and Seacoast
‘99s (6-2) to improve to 8-1-0.
Albert scored twice in the victory
against Seacoast but one day earlier he came through with a game-winning
tally against the Avalanche with 8:11 left in regulation. He also added
an assist in that game for a six-point weekend.
Congratulations to all three players (and their teams) on this recent accomplishment!
