Trevor Braun Delivers Again; Leads Junior As to Win over Monarchs
 | Trevor Braun | Trevor Braun (Windham, ME) continued his stellar offensive play this weekend by scoring four goals to lead his VJW Junior A squad past the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs, the defending EJHL Champions.
Showing that they are a force to be reckoned with this season, the Warriors traveled to the Tri-Town Arena in Hooksett (NH) on Saturday and jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period thanks to early tallies by Braun and Max Lorenzren (Leesberg, VA). John Rogeri (Katy, TX) and Braun both struck in the second period as the Warriors took a 4-1 lead into the second intermission.
Although the Monarchs scored first in the third period at the 5:25 mark, it was too little too late as the Warriors responded with three unanswered goals to secure the 7-2 victory. In that final stanza, Josh Woody (Sunderland, MD) scored his sixth goal of the season at the 9:27 mark and Braun netted two goals - including an empty netter.
| Marcus Moles | Woody finished with one goal and three assists, while Marcus Moles (Lake Placid, NY) and John Jackson (Bixby, OK) both added two assists. Fabian Sivnert (Sweden) was solid between the pipes once again as he saved 34 of 36 shots for his fourth win of the season.
On this day, however, it was Braun who stole the spotlight with a second
straight dominating offensive performance. In the Warriors’ last two games, Braun
has scored six goals to lead his team in scoring with eight goals and
six assists.
The Warriors will enjoy a rest this week before facing off against the
Rochester Stars (Saturday) and the New England Junior Huskies (Sunday)
at the Tri-Town Arena.
