The start of the New Year has brought much joy to the VJW Junior A squad, which posted two key league victories over the Green Mountain Glades this past weekend.

The Warriors, who entered the holiday break on a winning streak, continued where they left off by outscoring the Glades by an 11-to-4 margin. The Warriors ushered in the New Year with a 6-3 win on Saturday and then followed that up with a 5-1 decision on Sunday.

Leading the charge offensively once again was Mike Freitag (Westmont, IL), who registered two goals and four assists in those two games. The team's leading scorer with 28 points in 31 games, Freitag has been on a roll this past month by posting 13 points in four games.

Also making noise this weekend were Josh Woody (Sunderland, MD) - he posted two goals and four assists this weekend - and Andover standout Josh Daniels (Andover, MA), who enjoyed his best offensive performance to date on Sunday with two goals and two assists. Zach Sarig (Wyommissing, PA) continued his stellar defensive play and also contributed an assist in each of his team's victories.

In net, Chris Eiserman (West Newbury, MA) collected 27 saves on Saturday while Greg Hussey (Medford, MA) made 31 saves on Sunday in winning efforts.
