VJW Junior A Standout John Jackson Earns EJHL Weekly Honor
Before the VJW Junior A team enjoyed Thanksgiving break, one of its rising stars was recognized by the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL). First-year player John Jackson (Bixby, OK) was named the EJHL Rookie of the Year for his outstanding play during a three-game stretch in which he team posted a 2-1-0 record!
In those three key league games, Jackson netted a goal and assisted on four others.
He scored one of the Warriors’ two goals in their loss to the Junior
Bruins. He then assisted on a power play goal in the team’s
first game against Apple Core on Friday. Sunday was when Jackson truly
came alive, tallying three assists, including one on a shorthanded goal,
to help the VJW complete the sweep of Apple Core. Through 25 games, Jackson has collected three goals and eight assists.
