97 Elites Off to Fast, Unbeaten Start
Bantam_97_Min_Elite_460_v2.jpgThe Valley Jr. Warriors 97 Elite squad has jumped out to a 14-0 record so far this season.  During these 14 games they have out scored their opponents by an 84-8 margin, which has included 10 shutouts.

The Elites opened their season at the Warrior National Showcase during the last weekend in August.  They proceeded to go 4-0 in pool play scoring 29 goals, while allowing only one. In pool play they defeated the New Hampshire Monarchs, 7-0; Middlesex Braves, 4-0; Boston Jr. Eagles Elite, 8-1; and the Dual State Huskies, 10-0.  In the semifinals the Elites had to face-off against a familiar foe, the Valley Jr Warrior 97 Selects.  The Elites got the upper hand over the Selects, defeating them 11-0 and earn the trip to the Finals.  The Elites faced the Red Rangers in the Finals of the Warrior National Showcase and the Warriors defeated the Red Rangers, 6-0 to capture the crown.

The 97 Elites have played two weekends of parity rounds in the New England Hockey League.  Those eight league games have seen the 97 Elites remain undefeated.  During the opening weekend of the parity rounds, the 97 Elites gained victories over the Greater Boston Vipers, 8-0; New Hampshire Monarchs, 4-0; Red Rangers, 2-0 and the Seacoast Spartans Elite, 4-2.

The second weekend of the parity rounds saw the 97 Elites continue their winning ways.  They defeated the Vermont Glades, 5-0; New England Falcons, 6-3; Assabet Valley, 2-0 and the New Hampshire Avalanche, 7-2.  The three goals given up to the Falcons were the most goals allowed this season by the 97 Elites.

The Valley Jr. Warrior 97 Elites will continue play in the New England Hockey League and they will also travel to some of the top tournaments over the next couple of months.  The Elites will travel to Chicago, Ill and take part in the Bauer Invitational during the weekend of November 5-7.  Three weeks later they will host the Warrior Thanksgiving Tournament on November 26-28.  They will next travel into Canada and take part in the Richard Bell Tournament in Toronto over Christmas.  During January 15-17, the 97 Elites will host the Boston Super Series 97.
