Chris Kreider - Former VJW Standout - Leads BC to NCAA Tournament
Former Valley Jr Warriors standout Chris Kreider continues to enjoy a sensational season!
Months after leading Team USA to victory at the 2010
International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Kreider is celebrating with his Boston College squad which captured its league record ninth Hockey East title and fourth in the last six years!
Then, on Sunday, the Eagles learned that they earned one of four No. 1 regional seeds in the 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Hockey Tournament and will face Alaska-Fairbanks in first-round action in the Northeast Regional at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, March 27. This latest string of success is
nothing new for Kreider, who continues to make an impact wherever he
goes. To wit, Kreider came through with a goal and an assist in Boston
College's pivotal 3-0 semifinal contest against Vermont on March 19 at
the TD Bank Garden. In 32 games with Boston College this season, the
freshman Kreider has registered 13 goals and four assists.
Kreider, a native of Boxford, spent more than 10
years in a VJW jersey and
was most recently a member of Ken Cleary’s VJW U-18 team.
Since leaving the Warriors, the 6’2”, 206-pound
Kreider was selected as the No. 19 pick at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by
the New York Rangers and has enjoyed a strong freshman season for Jerry
York and the Boston College Eagles as he has posted five points in 14
