Steve MacAdams Brings Experience & Success to VJW

macadams09_120w.jpgA new face has joined the Valley Jr Warriors program and he is looking to make an immediate and positive impact on the program.

Steve MacAdams, an accomplished professional with more than 20 years of progressive coaching experience, has joined the Valley Jr Warriors to serve as director of program development.

In that position, MacAdams will work directly with Fred Devereaux, director of player development, as well as with all of the Warriors coaches to help continue the growth of the program to ensure the players receive the most advanced and comprehensive training while a part of a program that has enjoyed more than a decade of success.

“We are thrilled to have Steve join our staff,” said Devereaux, who – in addition to his duties with the Warriors – has been an NHL scout for more than 23 years. “His resume of work and success will no doubt help us improve the experience that we provide to our players and coaching staff.”

In addition to meeting with all of the Warriors coaches and helping to create and implement on and off ice training programs, MacAdams will also provide guidance on the upcoming Warrior Thanksgiving Tournament, which will draw more than 60 AAA-level teams from across the country. As a former two-year captain of the Salem State College hockey team, MacAdams is well aware of the commitment and training necessary to excel as a student-athlete at the next level.

“This is an exciting time for me because I feel that my experience and training are a perfect fit with this organization,” said MacAdams, a former assistant coach at Saint Anselm College. “The goal here will continue to be to foster a highly competitive and supportive environment where players of all age groups can maximize the development of their individual athletic skills to a national and international level of prominence.”

Former Valley Jr Warriors director of program development, Bob Carpenter, will now focus his attention on the Valley Jr Warriors Junior A team where he serves as an assistant coach alongside head coach and general manager Andy Heinze. Carpenter has been a valuable member of the VJW staff since 2006. He is one of a handful of former NHL and collegiate standouts who are part of the staff. Including in that impressive group are Andy Heinze, Stu Irving, Bob Sweeney, Paul Sacco, Chris Driscoll and Dave Sacco.
