VJW Power Skating & Summer Camp Info

With the 2008-09 season scheduled to begin this fall, there are many opportunities and program benefits available for all VJW players over the next two months.

As part of each player’s annual tuition, the Valley Junior Warriors offer – among other benefits – two important summer programs.

Here is a summary of the schedule of events for the Summer Weekly Power Skating Program and Warrior Summer Camp.

Summer Weekly Power Skating
Power Skating is an integral part of a player’s development. The seven-week Valley Junior Warriors Power Skating program focuses on speed, agility, mobility, power, quickness and explosiveness. It is designed to improve the player’s overall skating techniques.

Warrior Summer Camp
The four-day Warrior Summer Camp includes on-ice individual skills sessions, off-ice team systems instructions as well as on-ice team systems practice. Each session lasts approximately four hours each day. This year’s camp will be held on August 11-14 at the Lawrence and Haverhill Valley Forums.

Warrior Goalie Specific Camp
Goalies receive special attention during this three-day camp. Participants take part in two-hour training sessions with their age-appropriate groups. The sessions are led by renowned goal coach Louis Chabot, who has been successfully developing players at all levels since 1972.
